There’s a pretty cute holiday around the corner: Doggie Date Night is February 3rd. This is a great reminder to just spend some time with your pup, and perhaps pay him some extra attention. Long Walk
Walks are important for much more than sanitary reasons. They are also a great way for Fido to enjoy a change of scenery, and get some fresh air and exercise! Weather permitting, take your furry bff to a pretty park or trail.
Play Session
Fido is super playful, and he has a special way of making us smile when he’s just bounding around, having a blast being a dog. Get your pooch a new toy, and indulge him in a fun round of Fetch or Tag.
Grooming
Proper date nights require a bit of primping. If Fido is getting a bit stinky or disheveled, book him an appointment at his salon. Your canine buddy will look and feel better after, and you’ll get to enjoy snuggles with a clean pup!
Cooking
Do you like cooking? Why not make Fido some homemade treats? These don’t have to be complicated. Here’s an easy one: mix some pureed pumpkin or ripe bananas with natural peanut butter, an egg, and whole-wheat flour. Divide into small sizes, and then cook for about 20 minutes at 350F. You can add more cook time if you want something crunchier. You’ll find many more recipes online. Just be sure to use only dog-safe ingredients.
Training
Going to school may not be a great date for people, but it’s actually a wonderful activity for dogs. Fido really enjoys learning new things. If your pooch hasn’t mastered the basics yet, work on these. Otherwise, teach him a new trick.
Movie
Seeing a movie is a perfect date night activity. It’s also a great way to relax with Fido after a long day. Of course, you’ll want to choose a movie that’s about a dog, or at least features one. Lady and the Tramp is a perfect choice, but there are lots of other great picks!
