Easy Ways to Spoil Your Cat

March 1, 2021

Our feline friends have it pretty easy. Fluffy gets to basically lounge around all day, eating, sleeping, and looking cute. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t make life even better for your cute pet. A Roanoke, VA vet offers some simple ways to pamper your kitty below.

Toys

Kitties are very playful, and they love to pounce and jump on things. This is actually a deep-seated instinct in our feline pals. It’s good for Fluffy to be able to let her inner lioness out regularly. Make sure your furball has lots of fun toys, and take time to play with her daily.

Treats

Fluffy may be a finicky eater, but that doesn’t mean she won’t enjoy special snacks. Don’t be afraid to try a few things. Store-bought treats are great, but you can also give your feline buddy small bits of fish or poultry, as long as they are cooked and boneless.

Catnip

One thing that will always be amusing? Watching Fluffy’s antics as she is enjoying some catnip. Of course, not all cats are susceptible to catnip. If your furry buddy doesn’t care for it, try giving her some honeysuckle instead.

Beds

Did you know that cats can spend up to 20 hours a day napping, sleeping, and dozing? Giving your drowsy pet lots of comfy napping spots to look adorable in.

Grooming

Our feline companions are very clean, which is one of the many things we love about them. However, Fluffy can still use a helping paw with her beauty ritual. Brush your cat regularly.

Window Seats

We always recommend keeping your cat indoors, where she is protected from traffic, weather, predators, and other hazards. However, Fluffy will enjoy having a window seat, so she can watch birds and squirrels, and daydream about hunting.

Cat Furniture

Fluffy isn’t shy about getting comfortable on your couch or chair, but she will appreciate having things that were made to fit her. Offer your furry buddy some kitty furniture, such as pet tents or cat towers.

Love

Last but not least, just pay lots of attention to your feline pal. Keep that motor going! Talk to her, pet her, and pick her up when she wants to be held.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if ever we can be of assistance. As your Roanoke, VA veterinary clinic, we’re dedicated to offering top-notch care.
